Kinderzirkus Charlottenburg – children in the ring
TEACHING & COMMUNITY

Kinderzirkus Charlottenburg

We make circus with mime,
acrobatics and art.

Circus is an adventure full of imagination and passion. Learning, playing, trying things out. Feeling balance, momentum and tension gives children a sure sense of their own body and an appetite for movement.

Everyone has their own limits, their own pace and their own particular abilities. Recognising those and building on them is what my courses are for, and it is where confidence comes from.

The combination of circus and mime lets children build pieces in which their imagination has room.

Children's circus in Berlin

Katja Grahl's children's circus takes place at Ballett Centrum am Adenauerplatz in Berlin-Charlottenburg: Wilmersdorfer Str. 92–93, 10629 Berlin. Through circus projects, holiday circus and participatory programmes, children discover acrobatics, mime and creativity through movement and play. Open in Google Maps

Years of experience.

Training in a children’s circus is cultural education in the real sense. It builds abilities a child keeps for life, and it has been at the centre of Katja Grahl’s teaching for many years.

Body awareness

Balance and juggling train fine motor skills and a feel for the body, in a world full of screens.

Working together

In a pyramid everyone has to be able to rely on everyone else. We learn to catch one another.

Resilience

When the ball drops, you pick it up and carry on. Circus teaches persistence without pressure to perform.

As a dad, I thought what they conjured up with the children in such a short time was wonderful.
